QuickChick Wings

  1. Open the packet of coating mix.
  2. In one bowl, measure out 1 tablespoon of the coating and add 3 tablespoons of water. Mix until a thick, sticky paste forms – this is called the “kleiwo.”
  3. Transfer the remaining dry coating mix into a separate container.
  4. Place the chicken wings into the kleiwo and coat them thoroughly.
  5. Then transfer them into the bowl with the dry coating and coat them well, pressing the coating firmly onto the meat.
  6. In a pot or deep fryer, heat oil to a temperature of 160–170°C (320–340°F) – there should be enough oil for the wings to float freely.
  7. Check if the oil is ready: dip in a piece of chicken – if it starts sizzling intensely, the oil is hot enough.
  8. Fry the wings for about 8 minutes, until they are golden brown and crispy.
